Wellness tips for Mid-Autumn

Autumn is one of the best times to unwind and reflect at the end of the year. It’s the perfect time to spend time with your loved ones when you come home for the holidays. October is the month for wellness like Breast Cancer Awareness or Mental Health day. But wellness can mean a variety of things from making sure you get 7 hours of sleep a night to saying affirmations in the morning. Lee Journals shares these wellness tips for this fall season.

Get the Flu Shot

Taking the flu shot is one start in protecting yourself from the flu. It’s especially important even when the COVID vaccine is distributed. With the opening of concerts across the country, it’s vital to have some protection in outdoor venues. Visit your local physician for more information. The weather can be quite unpredictable at times.

Prepare for Daylight Savings

Daylight Savings ends the first Sunday in November. Some people start feel the day ending shorter the month prior. Notice patterns where you feel sleepier than usual and schedule a time to sleep earlier than usual. If you usually go to bed around 10 PM, try going to bed at 9 PM to feel more refreshed in the morning. You’ll not only feel more mentally alert, but can get more work done at an earlier time. 

Meditating

Meditation is a mind and body practice that has benefited millions of people. If you’re the kind of person who suffers from insomnia or anxiety, consider meditating before bed. There are tons of apps out there that can help you clear your mind. Head Space for example is a guided meditation app that uses animation to depict soothing atmospheres. The Calm app is for meditating for short periods of the day. The rain sounds allow for better sleep. You can also go on Youtube and listen to binaural or lofi beats for 1 hour. The possibilities are endless. 

Manifesting & Journaling

Manifesting is a fun way to keep yourself optimistic in your life. Everybody wants reassurance that they will get to their dream goals and manifesting puts those goals in action. When you manifest you are using the law of attraction by believing in the 1st person that you will achieve your goals. This can be done in a variety of ways from scripting and visualization. For example: with scripting, you can write your desires as if they are already happened using emotion.

Each day you would write a journal entry about how your day went with as much positive emotion as possible. “Today, I brought a brand new Mercedes-Benz.” To get into the flow, do a visualization search, go for a run or a walk or listen to uplifting music. Go to Modern Day Manifestations or watch youtube channels to give you other manifestation techniques. 

Journaling is a great way to express yourself. It’s also very relaxing when the day is winding down before you go to bed. Buy one at your local store or online and pick a specific topic you want to write about. Start with how your day is going and your future goals. You can also write your manifestations as I said in the previous one. Find the perfect time to write and strive to get your feelings together.

Start getting into shape with a new morning routine. Find an open spot to jog around for several laps. Smell the fresh morning air and have fun. This allows you to get refreshed for whatever day you have. Start exercising early and get in shape.

Preclean before Springtime

Why start cleaning in the spring when you can get a head start right now. Fall cleaning gets you ready for the holiday season. Clean your closet out, buy a new sofa chair for your bed and fix what needs to be done. Buy a new laptop for your office and get new decor for the house. You don’t have to feel cluttered in the cold winter months. Go to Home Goods or Overstock for furnishing ideas.
